Doron Ben-Ami

is a freelance illustrator, photographer, and musician. He has illustrated hundreds of book covers, advertisements, posters, children’s books, and calendars. He also creates illustrations for storyboards and animatics, assisting in the production of nationally broadcast TV commercials. Most recently he has expanded his professional offerings to video and animation. This work has called upon his skills as a seasoned musician, composer and recording producer.

When not creating visual imagery, he performs rock and jazz in the western Connectictut area. He has two grown children, and lives with his wife in Brookfield, Connecticut.

In addition to illustration, Ben-Ami is known for his photo compositing and retouching work. Using highly developed Photoshop skills combined with an artist’s eye, Ben-Ami is able to create unusual images, with no visible trace of digital editing.

A partial list of his clients includes: Hasbro Interactive, Simon & Schuster, Harper/Collins, Little Brown, Random House, Macmillan/ Mcgraw-Hill, Disney Publishing, Avon Books, Bantam Books, Pocket Books, Scholastic Inc., Penguin, Readers Digest, BBDO, Lowe Worldwide, Sudler & Hennessey, Jacobson/Rost, Purdue Frederick, KPR, NCI, Klemtner Advertising, GTFH, Ferguson Communications, Deltakos, Kimberly-C1arke, Johnson & Johnson, Canfield Soda, Meade Johnson, Alberto Culver, and Princeton University.

Ben-Ami received his Bachelors degree in Fine Art in 1977 at Brooklyn College, after which he served an apprenticeship with the internationally renowned figurative painter, Phillip Pearlstein.
