Want to learn more about the statewide and Interior Alaska candidates running for office in the Nov. 8 election?
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner’s interactive candidate Q&A can help.
The News-Miner sent a list of questions to all general election candidates, including write-in candidates approved by the Alaska Division of Elections.
Candidates were allowed up to 60 words to respond to each question. Occasionally a candidate’s answer would greatly exceed the 60-word limit. In those instances the survey response was shortened from the bottom. In many instances a candidate’s answer would exceed the limit by a few words. In those cases the excess words were allowed to remain so a candidate could complete a thought.
Two candidates whose names appear on the ballot did not return the survey: independent U.S. Senate candidate Ted Gianoutsos and House District 9 Republican candidate George Rauscher. Official write-in candidates Zachary Kile (U.S. House), Sidney Hill (U.S. Senate) and Paul Kendall (U.S. Senate) also did not return the survey.
All candidate surveys, as well as general Alaska information about the Nov. 8 election, are also available in a special section of the Oct. 30 edition of the Daily News-Miner.
